Synopsis:
This film is an account of the cutting-edge life of a bohemian man who ambles the streets aimlessly with a little camera in one hand. Even he doesn't know where exactly he is headed--only the faint whispers of his footsteps can recal the path of this wanderer.

In the world of Japanese photography, Daido Moriyama is ranked at the very top (alongside Araki Nobuyoshi) and has been recognized as the "Man who ushered in a new era of photography." "Near Equal Dado Moriyama" captures the life of this enigmatic man who has never before appeared on public forms of media until this project.

Dadio Moriyama's photographs express his fundamental belief in the need to sever ties with pure expressionism. They also represent his unconventional support for amateurism. The documentary covers everything from the legendary "rapidly snapping-without-a-viewfinder" images to his top-secret dark room processes and imparts valuable scenes from the artist's life that will keep the audience wide-eyed with wonderment. In the chapter "Conversion from Analog to Digital," the film depicts Daido--never one to be restricted by technology--in his initial attempts to go digital. This artist who is at once serious and playful, commands the respect of not only fans but all who thrive in the modern generation.

You are too cool, Daido Moriyama.
