Friends in middle school through thick and thin, the three boys Gi-woong, Yong-ju, and Gi-taek start to experience their relationships shake as they go on to high school. Called a “human punching machine” and subjected to violence at school, Gi-taek cannot forgive Gi-woong, who hangs around with the school gang and tacitly consents to violence against his former friend. On the other hand, Yong-ju, having secretly harbored love for Gi-woong, cannot but feel distress and resentment at his old friend’s change.
One day, while being chased by gang members, Gi-woong narrowly escapes the crisis by snatching away Yong-ju’s bicycle, which leads to yet another relationship between the two. Yong-ju confesses his long-harbored love to Gi-woong, who in turn tries hard to push away his own feelings. Grasping the subtle relationship between the two boys, Gi-taek feels utterly betrayed.
On the other hand, Gi-woong desperately looks for his father, who was imprisoned years ago for setting fire on the factory he worked at as an act of protest but has been released since then. Meanwhile, Seong-jin, the second leader of the gang, is nervous about Gi-woong’s absence and inflicts violence even more cruelly to safeguard his position. Seeking to free himself from the wretched situation, Gi-taek reveals to Seong-jin the relationship between Gi-woong and Yong-ju.
Newly fallen prey to the school gang due to Gi-taek’s betrayal, Yong-ju is hurt beyond recovery and tries to let go even of the only ray of hope he had. Witnessing Yong-ju on the verge of suicide and discovering bygone wounds, Gi-woong embarks on an unstoppable rush.
